Similar to art events like Inktober and Art Fight, Animaugust is a month-long challenge that takes place during the course of August, only with animation instead of illustration!
Dedicated to creating one animation per day, Animaugust is an event made to both challenge your creativity, whilst also acting as a new and interesting way of exploring animation as a whole!
To take part in Animaugust, you don't have to take part every single day. But it can be fun to challenge yourself and give it a go!
I want to treat Animaugust as a way to bring more people into trying out animation for themselves, taking part is super easy and tons of fun!
Every year a new list of prompts is released, you can find this year's prompts by going to the 'Prompts' page of this website!
You don't have to use them in any particular order, and if you'd prefer, you don't have to use them at all! The point of the prompt is just that: a prompt, there for if you're stuck on what to animate and need a suggestion!
I'd love to see what you animate during this event! If you'd like to show us your work, simply post your animations online with the hashtag #animaugust or #animaugust2025!
